Food Science

A degree in food science entails engaging in the production and manufacture of food items that are commonly used at home and sold in supermarkets. One will be supposed to oversee and ensure that the production process is safe and that no poisonous article goes into the raw products. Companies that produce food items like royco, cooking oil, rice (grains in general), salt, sugar, spices etc. need food scientists to ensure they are safe for consumption.

One who has undertaken a degree in Food Science can work as a:

  • Food Security Manager
  • Production Supervisor (for cooked products)
  • Food Science consultant
  • Quality Manager
  • Food Technologist
  • Production development Scientist

One can pursue this program at a degree level (in the 1st three universities) or start at the
diploma level at the institutions listed above.

This Course would be best for one who loves knowing about food production. You have to
do very well in science and get a minimum of C+ in Biology, Chemistry and Physics as well
as Math.

You need to work extra hard in the Sciences 🙂
