ARTS, SPORTS and ENTERTAINMENT

ARTS

The creation of beauty is art! Art is not only a form of expression but it can also be a career
option. A pretty good career!

Art careers varies from painting, architecture, interior design, pottery, graphic and web
designing and even photography. It is a really broad field.

To succeed in an art career, a person has to be really creative so they are able to come up
with original ideas. No one wants to buy copied stuff, right?

SPORTS

Most times when we think of a sports career we automatically think of famous football players, basketball players and swimmers.

Truth is, you don’t have to be athletic to have a successful career in the sports profession. There is a variety of career options such as:

  • Physical therapists – These are people who assist injured players regain their muscle strength and they also exercise their injured limbs to make sure they heal well
  • Sports psychologists – They help the sports men keep a winning mind-set and also make sure that the players’ personal problems and stress do not interfere with how they perform in the field.

The above are just but a few examples. Having a sports career when you are not an athlete requires one to study other fields, for example; to be a sports psychologist you’ll be required to study for a degree in psychology then later specialize to become a sports psychologist.

ENTERTAINMENT

The entertainment industry entails film making, music production etc.

A lot of work goes into the music videos and movies we watch. Other than being an actor and a musician, you can do so much in the field of entertainment. This includes but is not limited to: film production, costume designing, film creation, video editing, script writing and film directing.

What is required to get into these fields?

Hard work of course!

Getting a good education is key if you want to succeed in any career. You have to read hard and make sure you pass in your exams. In Kenyan universities the minimum entry requirement for a degree course is an average grade of C+.
