Mohamed is a public sector reforms specialist with a strong Finance background and 8 years extensive experience in grants management, treasury management, development planning, project management, budget formulation, execution, reporting and auditing. He currently serves as a Permanent Secretary Agriculture and Fisheries Development in the County Government of Wajir where he monitors and reports on the implementation of donor funded projects including European Union’s Instrument for Devolution Advice and Support (EU-IDEAS), World Food Programmes’ Sustainable Food Systems Programmes, World Bank’s Agriculture Sector Development Support Programme and Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project among others. He has organized and trained youth and women groups on grant application, financial management, book keeping, value addition opportunities and entrepreneurship. In addition, he has experience in evaluating business proposals from youth groups, conducting pre-award surveys to vet the potential applicants and facilitated access to grants.
