Kudzai Kutukwa – South Africa
Kudzai is the co-founder and CEO of Mobbisurance, a startup that is developing a mobile based crop insurance product and other financial services for smallholder farmers. Through the use and analysis of satellite imagery, Kudzai and his team have been able to drive down costs significantly associated with serving this particular market segment. In addition he also co-founded the Emerging Farmers Exchange, a marketplace that links big buyers of agricultural produce with smallholder farmers that are currently excluded from the agricultural value chain. He is passionate about financial inclusion for the poor and under-served members of our society and he believes that technology can help bridge this divide. Kudzai was also recently named by Fast Company magazine as one of South Africa's top twenty young entrepreneurs under 30. Kudzai is also a 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow and an Obama fellow.
